Wedding Fitness: 6 Simple Tips to Help You Look Fab on the Big Day

Weddings are stressful! Not just for the brides/grooms-to-be but for close friends and family as well. And the one thing that gets sidelined among all the wedding madness is your fitness routine. After all, who has time to focus on health and fitness when there are a million wedding-related errands to be done? Still, there are some simple things that you can do to make sure you are fit, energetic and looking your best when the celebrations begin.

It’s not just the bride and groom… With so many photo ops all around, everyone wants to look their best at a wedding. But for an occasion so important, it’s about more than just looking fit. It’s also about having enough energy to carry you through the endless functions and celebrations. Here are 6 simple tips to help you get fit and fabulous for the big day.

1.  Sleep Well

Sleep is one of the most underrated aspects of fitness. Did you know that your body actually grows and heals while you are asleep? It doesn’t happen at the gym, when you eat, or at any other time. Moreover, getting good 6-8 hours of quality sleep also aids fat loss and lowers your stress levels – which brings us to…

2. Don’t Stress

To stay as mentally fit as you can in the days before the wedding, take time to identify the people, activities, or issues that are likely to cause you the most stress. Being mindful of your stress points will stop you from stress eating.

Also bear in mind that when you are under a lot of stress, your cortisol (stress hormone) levels shoot up. This imbalance can elevate your blood sugar levels and lead to fat accumulation – not something you want before an important occasion. So, don’t forget to take some time to decompress!

3. Drink Lots of Water

Keeping yourself hydrated means reduced bloating, better skin quality, improved digestion, and multiple other health benefits. So whether it means carrying a big bottle of water wherever you go or installing a phone app that reminds you to drink frequently – do whatever you need to make sure you are consuming 3-4 litres of water every day.

4. Seize Every Opportunity to Exercise!

No matter how minor it may seem, any physical activity you do during the day will add to the total calories you burn. Simple activities like fitting in 10k steps in a day (go ahead – use that fitness app/watch!) or taking the stairs instead of the lift will take you a long way. And if you can, do workout for at least 15 minutes a day. Remember, any kind of activity is good for you!

5. Begin Your Day with This Magic Drink

Kickstart those hectic pre-wedding days by drinking a concoction of 10–20 ml raw, organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar; 500–750 ml water; and juice from half a lime first thing in the morning. This helps rehydrate the body and energises blood flow. Additionally, the ACV-Lime Combination helps reduce bloating, balances the body’s pH levels, and improves digestion.

6. Don’t skimp on veggies and yoghurt in your diet

These foods help improve gut health and avoid indigestion. Not only that, but they also boost energy levels, improve skin quality, aid weight loss, and strengthen the immune system (definitely handy during the wedding season).

Remember, if you’re feeling healthy, happy, and confident, all those upcoming celebrations are going to be even more enjoyable and memorable.
